Took wife on line purse shopping;

Wife came home with the strap on her CCW purse broken. Looked at it and it is just plum wore out. Not faulty craftsmanship,but wore out. Purse is over 6-8 yrs. and gets a beating daily.
She looked on line for another purse from the same manufctr.,Gun Toten Mama,as in our opinion are THE BEST made. She found one she really likes and it list for $179.
We then found the exact same purse offered through Cabela's and list for $149. Added item to our cart and it is on sale for $100.49. Proceeded to checkout and opted to use Cabela bucks/points. Chose the full $100.49 and it took,along with FREE shipping!!! Her $179.00 purse will be here monday,FREE. She is thrilled.
But hey,she gets a new purse. Momma happy,the house is happy.

    Last time my wife was online-shopping for a purse it cost me over $1,800 for her Louis Vuitton birthday present. Oh, well, "happy wife happy life"...and she leaves me alone when I buy guns [:)]

    I have a MAJOR weakness for good purses. You really get what you pay for when it comes to these things. I'm sure she will LOVE it! You did great!

    $500 is my stopping point. I can walk you directly to the most expensive purse in any dept store without looking at any tag......its like a beacon calling to me. We all have some hidden circus trick type thing and this is mine. My daughter cannot enter a cake walk without winning....they draw her number every time. We came home from a church event one day with FOUR cakes.

    I've fallen in love with the super pricey bags, but never bit the bullet and purchased one. I'm pretty rough on my things and $500 is the most I can imagine spending on a purse that I'm going to abuse.

    When the strap on her favorite purse broke, my wife just took it into the boot repair shop and three days later picked it up. $15.00, with the bonus that she got to pick the exact length that she wanted the shoulder strap to be.

    Your wife got lucky on hers. The metal swivel broke. Many miles on it,metal worn away. Would never match a replacement swivel/latch. The rest of the purse has the same miles on it.

    The wife wanted a Chanel for our 30th Anniversary. Saw one at Heathrow on our way to Scotland last summer. North of $ 5,000.00 at the airport. I brilliantly asked her to wait until we got home because I didn't want to pay the mark up for a Chanel Boutique at Heathrow Airport.

    Paid an extra 10% or so when she finally found it here in the states.

    I wouldn't have a problem if the things held their value. Particularly because you apparently need one for each season, and few more for special occasions.

    She buys purses, I buy firearms. Both are expensive habits.

    The wife also like Louis Vitone pocketbooks. They are expensive but they appreciate in value somehow. So in girl world these good bags seem to be a decent investment bet
