Our Labrador Kola had surgery--Kola has passed...
UPDATE 2: It was with much sadness and regret, that we had to put our dear Kola Bear down, Friday morning. The house feels so empty and quiet without her. She took her last breath in our arms. Thanks again for all the concern and support.
UPDATE: We received some bad news this evening.
The results came back from the tumor and it was cancerous. Our vet's rough estimate is 6 months or less. This is a huge bummer, considering the vet was VERY optimistic after removing the tumor. At this point, we are going to get our gal heeled up from surgery and enjoy every minute with her. I was going to write a big long paragraph here about her, but she's not dead yet and that's where I'm going to leave it.
I greatly appreciate all of your concern for Kola and us. It definitely has not gone unnoticed.
Kola had surgery yesterday afternoon. Long story short, she had her spleen removed do to a laceration and small tumor. She had 1 liter of blood in her chest cavity!
The vet figured she had the laceration for a while now, which is why she had been so up and down the last few weeks.
She is already home and wanting to run around and play with our other dog, so things are looking good. We get the results back on the small tumor early next week.
Those surgeries aren't cheap though....$1,511 later!! [:0]
