Short Video of a mod done by this gunsmith to 1911's.

He is not that good at narrating but its interesting and he is correct I have not seen this done before.

I know there are a few gunsmiths like FM and I would like them to weigh in.

IMO this looks un-necessary and some polishing would fix this right away.

  Thanks for the replys ya'll.
  
  I thought it was kind of dumb/Not needed myself, reducing the area that strips a bullet out of the magazine doesn't really make sense.
  
  I usually polish the disconnector nose with some flitz just to slick it up some. I have had a few guns hesitate but only when slowly closing the slide never during firing.
