The last dachshund I had would put the cats to shame when it came to mice.

That is a hoot. Never seen anything like it. Do the dogs ever get a belly full?

I was surprised to learn a while back Yorkies had a function. They were ratters [:0][:0][:0]. And not a floor mop/duster [:D][:D][:D].

It is fun watching dogs work like they were bred to do.

There are some awesome videos of herding dogs also

Our newest member of the family is a PBGV (Petit Bassett Griffon Vendeen) which is a French bred rabbit hunting dog. Not highly known in the states but this lil gal is so full of piss and vinegar that she has helped our over weight Golden Retriever lose about 10 pounds since we got her last August.

I would bet she would make a very good small rodent hunter as well!

WE have a Toy Fox Terrier that kills rats in the blink of an eye.

He has killed two huge rats and one baby rabbit. The encounter is over very quickly...just kills them and then drops them...nothing personal ,just business.

I'd hate to live in a place that had that many rats.

Anyone know the location of link? I've never been anywhere you could dig up rats like potato's

We had a lot of rats when I was a kid, had what we called a Manchester Terrier there was no way you could use forks when digging out holes she would have been stuck by one of the tongs she was so damn aggressive, there was really no controlling her when full blown rat killing was going on

I recall reading a dogs brain has built in brain protection for the violent shaking while killing its victim

Why not take a tractor and plow them out.

Aside from the lab rats my brother brought home from school, I have never even seen a wild rat anywhere I have ever lived my whole life.

From the amount of videos on YouTube there is a LOT of folks that hunt rats/muskrats/small rodents with dogs and/or Mink.

For their size Mink are probably high on the scale of aggressive predators. Mink can be trained for rodent eradication.

Believe rodent eradication is one of things this guy does to make money and of course make YouTube Videos.[:D]

I've notice that UK has quite a few very nice PCP "target rifles" including scopes, video, night vision.

The PSP guns must fall outside the laws for "regular" firearms.

Can PCP rifles be purchased w/o a lot of problem in the UK?

What the heck ground rats? Must have been a heck of a burrow with that many rats?
