I wanted to invite you- results posted!
Well Either good or bad I always ?expect? to win.
I LEARNED A TON which im thankful for.
The weekend had 740 total shooter across different divisions-Wow!
Good atmosphere, and really low key. I will say although I felt like it was more of an introductory match- the sheer volume made it competitive. Stages were efficient, RO?s were good if not overly generous, and the focus really was on developing and gaining shooters which I enjoyed.
I ran 2 divisions, ?unlimited?- which is your race guns with optics and pocket Glocks which is limited to Glock 42 (.380) and Glock 43 (9mm).
I finished 31 of 74 in Unlimited- disappointing but confident I can finish top 10 now that i know the rules and strategies. And I was way back in pocket Glocks finishing 57 of 77 shooters.
I really felt like the ?unlimited class? didn?t really belong, as you dont draw from a holster, don?t move shooting positions, and dont change mags. Basically the things that make USPSA aren?t in play here.
But the pocket Glock division is brilliant! Take yor concealed carry gun and run it through three different stages each stage is 3-4 shot strings, and your cumulative time (consistency + accuracy) determines your final score.
Of note, a miss in a GSSF match is a 10 second penalty- so really hard to transition from my race gun to my G43 and not shoot too fast.
I had a good time, learned and will definitely shoot another GSSF match down the road.

I will be shooting the GSSF match at New Smyrna Beach Florida on Sunday.
Im shooting both the ?unlimited? class and the carry gun with my G34 & 43 respectively.
They seem to favor accuracy over flat out speed, but im going to go play and see what happens.
Never shot a GSSF match but I hear if you win you have a good shot at winning a gun or other cool stuff.
Ill be there Sunday & 8:30 AM.

I have shot GSSF and at the end of the day accuracy scores over time. You are shooting at silhouettes and there are better scores for center mass
I found the culture awesome. comeraderie for 99% and serious competition 1%
Bring some extra rounds and bucks and you can shoot a side match to warm up

Good luck and have fun Dave. Those matches are fun and they usually have an armorer on site to service guns for free. I have shot them for years and been fortunate enough to win 4 pistols. 0 -
Indoor GSSF favors accuracy w/misses not counted.
Outdoor GSSF favors time w/misses being deductions.
On top of winnings they have drawings for guns.
Lots of fun and great practice. Onsite armorer will work on your Glock for free!0 -
I don't think why system could take -30 up to maybe 70 degrees[}:)] 0 -
If you learned tons, you are a winner... And I'm sure you'll do better next time.
As far as the pocket Glock division goes, you might want to think about getting g42. You can take advantage of having less recoil in that division shooting .380 over that 9 mm. Of course I'm probably sure you already thought about that
but congratulations, you did pretty good for your first time out without knowing what to expect if you ask me0
