I think LinkedIn is pretty good. I have never used it for getting a job, but I have used it to attract and get people.

I would say nearly 100% of the 30 and younger job seeking crowd is on there.

Im actually LinkedIn with Capt Fun among others here.

I'm not that much into social media although I have a Face Book account and I rarely post there. I have a bit over 100 or so called friends but we don't comment much to each other especially coming from my end.

Linked In is more about business contacts and professional colleagues than Facebook and other purely social sites. I have been invited, but heck I am retired and have very little desire to be linked in. I don't even tweet, I have seen the trouble I could cause myself doing that.

Me to retired with 3 part time jobs and I only get paid for 2 of them. That's why I thought it was kinda odd that a member here would ask that I join.

Don't worry, just delete all the future e-mails LinkedIn will be sending you. You can even hit the spam button and never see them when they arrive![:)]

If you have a Linkedin account and someone invites you to join their network, you have the option to accept or reject the invitation.

I use it to keep up with work related acquaintances as we change jobs and more on to other career interests. Also keeps you up to date on companies you do business with. Not the WSJ but there are current articles on the companies you follow. Without the BS you see on facebook or twitter.

I don't have a Linkedin account nor do I want one.
