A Lighting Question?

If I install a gimbaled can light in the ceiling that starts with a 3" aperature and it throws a 40 degree beam how wide will the beam be at 66" and at 90"? This is a sloped ceiling and the distances are to the counters on each side of the room.
These are the lights.

  With out going to the manufacturer specs,
  you can try this:
  you know 40 degree angle, you know r {66in or 90in}
  find s

  For the 66" distance, a 48" wide beam
  
  For the 90" distance, a 66" wide beam.
  
  Values are approximate.

  According to the lamp specs, the lamp itself is tiltable to 40deg. off the centerline. That's not the same as a 40deg. beam....
  
  If your light is 66" from the ceiling to floor,at 40 deg., it will project 55" to the side. if it is 90" high, it will deviate 75.5" to the side.

  Given the above phrases I had assumed a 40 degree beam, 40 degrees of vertical tilt, and 350 degrees of rotation. Is that not correct or do I need to work on my reading comprehension skills?

  Ok, 40 degrees of vertical tilt does not tell the FOCAL LENGTH of the lens/bulb.
  
  Call the manufacturer, they will have your specs.

  I think the product description is poorly done, or perhaps my comprehension skills are off.
