Slings lead, not grease.

Yet again stopped by the LGS, to check up on some more AR goodies. Didn't find anything I needed, and only picked up a couple bronze brushes. As I'm paying for them, I glance behind the counter, to the left, and asked the man behind the counter "is that what I think it is?"

"Sure is! Wanna check it out?"

Fully-functional M3 Grease Gun, made by Ithaca. Never had my hands on one before. I have to admit, it was not only a lot smaller than I had pictured, but also a lot lighter, too. Easily half the weight of a Thompson. Definitely made my day just getting to look down the sights. Been a while since I got to check out something new, to me anyway.[:)]

    ~$3000, but a dealer sample only, by the way it sounded.

    The last TRANSFERABLE M3 I saw sold for $21,850. Guide Lamp Division gun. $3K is cheap for a Dealer Sample.

    Have shot an M3A1 (active duty) and honestly, better than I expected.

    My dad told about carrying a M3 grease gun for a while in WW2.
    He was a mechanic for Sherman tanks.
    Hated it. Said the Mag pouches had places for loaded mags and a slot for a spare barrel.
    It was only good for "spray and pray" firing.
    "Give me my Garand, I want to hit em before they are so close"
