I have 3 mounted and 2 have bats in them.
The biggest problem is guano under the houses.0 -
Almost zero chance of rabies. The bat poop is excellent fertilizer. 0 -
My pond was so bad with skeeters that it was horrible to get around it.. I now have 2 bat houses that they use except in the winter,,winter time they go to the cave up the hill,,hardly ever any skeeters now 0 -
Keep in mind the spacing between the interior baffles when purchasing. Don't remember the dim. but if not correct, wasps will tend to get in there and nest[:(!]. Has to be facing the correct direction and may take many years attract them, good luck and keep us posted. 0 -
While bats, like other mammals, are susceptible to rabies their system is so fragile that they will usually die very quickly if they contract the disease, thus limiting their ability to infect other critters. I'd be far more concerned with skunks and 'coons. 0 -
Yes when I first saw the statistic on how many mosquitos a single bat can eat in a single night - well now I love seeing them any where near my house! 0
