Good batteries are the key to these tools.

I wish that were the case here. THe batteries are fine, it is the tools ran by them that are JUNK.

I bit the bullet today and bought 2-18V XRP batteries at Lowes, they were the last two they had 99 bucks plus tax hurts but I KNOW the Dewalt tools will work when I need them too.

I feel like boxing up the junk RIDGED tools and sending them to the Home Depot CEO telling him they are fine paperweights but useless junk as tools.

The experts rated the Ridgit over the Dewalt head to head.

That is the kit I bought. It is junk in the real world of using a tool.

This is the articles bottom line

Regarding price, the DeWalt kit is a little more expensive than the Ridgid.

    Is it worth it?

Mmm, in our opinion, yeah. Really what you?re most concerned with in these combo kits is the drill, impact driver, and battery performance - all of which the DeWalt hands-down is superior to over the Ridgid.

"Good batteries are the key to these tools."

I ran a DeWalt 12 volt drill on a 7/16" x 12" bit to apply chemical to the core of a bunch of honey locust trees. After using all my batteries(5-6) in an hour, the next day I went back with a 12V motorcycle battery in a backpack and a stretchy cord to the drill. That battery ran a full 4 hours by which time I was totally ready for a break to let it charge.

All DeWalt are not created equal. Some are built in the USA and some south of the border. Look the same but ain't the same.

Every Dewalt battery tool I have has this on the label....... good batteries = good tool. Bad batteries = junk tool. Plenty out there just as good if they have good batteries, IMO.

As I?ve said, there?s no reason a China man can?t be trained to assemble a tool as well as an American. The difference is design and materials of construction
