Several days worth of Work lunches/Dinner. My Mom has asked for a portion.
Makes a Killer Soup.0 -
May have to add some Corn, in retrospect.
Yes, added a can of niblet corn. Looking good/smelling good.
More like a stew, than Soup. Good stuff.0 -
Did you get the beef at taco Bell? If so that's a vegan dish[;)][:D]
A couple of slices of diced bacon would make that taste good too. Bacon makes everything better
Need to add, sounds good just like it is too... Although I hate cooking cabbage during the winter. As good as cook cabbage tastes, it sure smells like crap cooking...0 -

A nice hard loaf of garlic bread..[:p]0 -
I've always used beef broth with beef and wild game. Chicken broth with chicken, pork and turkey. Interesting, maybe I still live in the stone age.. 0 -
if you use chicken broth and chicken stock, WHY put hamburger in it? would chicken meat not be better suited? some big egg noodles would help also. 0 -
Sounds good, but I find Swanson's sweet tasting. 0 -
I know it?s cheating, but when at work, I cook up a couple ribeye steaks, then dice them up and add to a couple or three bags of Bear Creek vegetable soup mix.
I also throw in a handful of pearl barley.
Really not bad for bag soup, quick and easy and it works going on pack trips also.

I start with a large Swanson Soup mix pack. Although it calls for ground beef, (I double the amount of ground beef called for.) it is chicken stock based. (Adding Chicken Boullion is my own touch.) The pack includes egg noodles, and dried peas. Etc. I add a pkg/box of Farfalle/Bow tie pasta. I also forgot to add, I put in an entire large bunch of thin sliced celery.
I hooked up my work crew lunch table today, they were blown away. It is more like a thick stew than a soup. Guys were asking for recipes.
It is very good Sheeit. Good thing I have a lot of it. [:D]0 -

Forgot I had a couple cloves of fresh garlic, or it would have been included. [^]0 -
My bad, upon pulling the Swanson pack and re-reading the directions, it calls for,........................................................
Wait for it..........................................................
Beef Broth.
Will have to try that next time. Last time I made it (1st time) this is how I made it. It was so good I repeated my (mistake.)0 -
Best home made soup dump the stuff in the trash and go to Carrabbas for that Italian sausage and lentil soup! 0 -
Nothing better then home made soup. Especially this time of year. Never too much garlic or onion in soups. 0 -

^^^it's just packaged soup with a twist....
Why don't you try reading the ingredients and making it with all fresh ingredients instead of using the package... Then I bet it'd be really, REALLY good0 -

Thank you Julia Childs.
That Soup mix Starter pack, was about 1/20th of what went in to it.
Think what you want. Makes no difference to me.
I will enjoy it just the same.0 -
Sound good GG. Read your other thread. (I love Potato soup.)
This Soup Starter mix, contains - "enriched egg noodles, eggs, egg whites, onions, carrots, peas, tomatoes, celery.
Pretty much what I added in copious amount on my own. Yes apparently I cheated.
So "It is not Homemade Soup." Whatever................................
I will be enjoying my "Not" Homemade Vegetable/Beef Soup, again here shortly. Pretty good stuff.
I am sorry if Julia Childs does not approve/deem to call it "Homemade."
I'm really torn up about that.0 -

There I fixed it for you...
Why don't you start out with all fresh products instead of powdered and dehydrated products?...
Just curious[:D]
Although I would use that starter package on a hiking or horse camp out. It Sounds good... Just need to throw in water, bouillon granules (I prefer them over bouillon cubes) to make the broth, herbs and spices and meat. Sounds like a very trail Worthy soup0 -

Hmmm, "Nose Skin Soup." Could be made with pig snouts, lots of veggies, clear broth. Might be on to something Ken. [:D][^][;)]
Here's a recipe for pig snout split pea soup... Always love split pea soup, and the addition of pork would make it great...[^]
I guess it's appropriate having a slimy green soup (looks like snot) with pig snout[:D]

I didn't say I wouldn't try it, but at home I'll just go down and read the ingredients, and then by all fresh vegetables and eggs to make it.0 -
I like my mother Julia, am a very good cook. But I defer from the Blowhard soup previously mentioned. 0 -
