Yep, that's my suspicion too. He wants that wall so bad, my bet is he'll sign gun control to get it. His bravado about taking the Gov Shut Down publically put him in a bad position right off the bat.0 -
Just saw most of his speech and no wonder Pelosi and the democraps didn't want him to have his state of the union speech.

Republicans had the house, the senate and the presidency. They did not fund the building of a southern wall. Same crap as when Bush had all 3 and got nothing done but increased spending and more government power. Ignore the voters and carry on with promoting party power.
But republican brow beaters will still holler to vote republican so the democrats don't get control.
We did get a couple of supreme court justices appointed that, while not perfect, are much better than the democrats would have appointed. So it wasn't a total loss.
The republicans can KMA. Sure they take the country down the drain slower than the democrats. But down the drain we go.0 -

The republicans promised to over turn Obamacare, they didn't. The republicans held the house the the senate and did not fund the wall.
We aren't eating our own, our own is throwing us under the bus.
To President Trump's credit he has done what he can to disable Obama care, despite his own party trying to stop him. But if a democrat gets back in they will reverse all that, just like the republican party wants them to. If the republicans wanted it overturned they would have overturned it. They didn't.
If the republicans wanted a wall they would have funded it, they didn't.
I am not worried about eating our own, I am concerned with saving a nation for the future generations of my family.
"Vote for us because we are not democrats" just doesn't carry any weight with me anymore.
I am not happy with President Trump's waffling on gun control. Even doing that, he is head and shoulders above the national republican party when it comes to giving a crap about this country.

He just called the Ds bluff. They said they'd negotiate after the government was open. Well he's reopening it.
If the next bill does not include wall funding he declares state of emergency and we get the wall without all the other things he offered in recent weeks and the Ds lose their biggest bargaining chip in immigration reform. And he gets to crucify the Ds in the SOTU speech in the meantime. Looks like he caved but in the long run Trump wins.0 -

Republican senator Mark Meadows discovered this "loophole"of how to build the wall without the house or Senate approval... Maybe Trump is just reopening the government and then he's going to use this law to get the wall built

The Democrats really don?t care about border security anyway. How else do you think their party gets new members. The anchor babies and kids who are born here after a generation damn sure aren?t voting Republican. And I don?t even think the Republican politicians care that much about it either because if they did they would have fixed it the times over the last 40 years when they held power. 0
