Do you buy

spare parts or spring kits when you buy a used pistol? Let us say for a Beretta 21A or a CZ82. Let's also exclude pistols such as a Glock or 1911.

    just me I have very few spare parts for any firearm ( magazines not included )
    Except the AR-15 group . I keep lots of extra springs and detentes ( lesson learned on the first one I took apart ) and assorted parts enough to build at least a couple + more if a stripped receiver , uppers happen along

    I wouldn't know. Just figure some things will eventually wear out like extractors and springs and the parts will be easier and cheaper to find now than perhaps 10 to 20 years from now. I tend to keep and use my firearms for a long time.

    If HR 7115 passes there's going to be of rush for spare parts for firearms... Because HR 7115 outlaws the sale of parts for firearms

    I think it will pass the house, but I doubt it will pass the Senate this time around. But in a couple of years if the Liberals get a majority in both the House and Senate it will pass... [xx(][xx(]

    I think that it is a good idea, specially if the gun is out of production or the company has closed down. For instance I have a Star BM I like to shoot, I was able to find some new firing pins and extractor for it, I am hoping they never wear out or break, but if they do I have the parts, and if I would ever get rid of pistol I can resell them.

    Usually. If she comes in kind a looking like she had a sordid past. Or of certain age or run where you know parts will be hard to find.

    I have a complete parts kit for each of my defense/survival guns.

    They are called SPARE GUNS!
    (I have 4 identical Glock 17's, 3 Glock 43's, 2 S&W M%P 22 Compacts, 4 AR's, etc.)
    I can simply replace the gun then look for parts at my leisure.

    I keep BOXES of spare parts for my Remington 5MM Magnums, only because they don't make them anymore. Other than that, I don't generally keep any spare parts.

    Lots of mags, but no other parts, that is what Wolf Springs, Numrich, Brownell's and others are for.

    Replaced every spring in several handguns - a 1911 and a sata .25 acp and a frommer stop and a cz27 and a Mauser 1910 and a Bayard 1908 and in both a Papa and baby nambu...

    Have replaced mainsprings in many pocket revolvers on aged origin.

    Not normally.

    That being said, the wife and I both have S&W SD9VE pistols. A couple weeks ago, I stumbled upon on a sight that sells all the factory parts for them. I decided I was going to buy some spare parts, a few at a time, for it. I figure it wouldn't hurt to have a few extra springs, extractors, magazine build kits, etc. for them.
