That was offered before, & the Dems voted against it. They have no reason to reconsider; all the Wicked Witch wants is to embarrass Trump by defeating one of his campaign promises.
Note that only scoundrels talk about "a pathway to citizenship". The illegal aliens would be happy to get "a pathway to permanent resident". They don't care about citizenship, they just want to stay here legally.

They need to be kept out, unless they legally apply for Citizenship, enter this Country legally, and can offer this Country something.
"Sanctuary Cities" need to be stripped of all Federal funding.
We are the only Country out there, where an "Illegal" can give birth in this Country, and be given Citizenship upon that standing. Ridiculous and ludicrous on its face.

I agree 100% Ken,...unfortunately I also don't think we will ever REALLY get tough with our immigration programs. We live in an ever increasing 'touchy-feely' snowflake world now.0 -

Immigration, both legal and illegal, plus travel visa overstays are the disastrous mess they are in because that is what Congress wants. The will of the People be dammed.
My brother married a lady from Peru about 7 years ago. They have spent many thousand of dollars in fees to government and lawyers to get to the point that maybe by this fall she will be sworn in as a Citizen. It is not easy or cheap to get US citizenship. The former is proper, the latter is not.0 -
Nancy has already turned it down. It?s at loggerheads. Neither side is going to budge so we remain in shutdown. There WILL come a point in time when this will start to hurt the economy and start affecting more than just Federal workers. Doesn't quite work that way. If an illegal alien has a baby on US Soil the baby is AUTOMATICALLY a citizen of the U.S.
Illegal aliens go home but citizens can stay, and how the laws got written that way is one big mystery and it NEEDS to get changed.
Just this week an pregnant mother crossed the border illegally (over the fence) got on U.S. soil, had her child a few hours later,, goody, goody, a new U.S. citizen was born.
Now what? separate the baby from it's mother?

And yet when a citizen commits a crime they can have their rights under the constitution taken away. So if you are in this country illegally then you should NOT have `14th amendment rights. That is pretty damn simple.

There should be no, zero, none, nada protection for "dreamers." Either your Parents are/were here legally, or they are not.
