Tire Rack is pretty good, but I prefer to get them local with free flat repair from a shop that I trust. Check for manufacturer coupons. Cost seems to be about the same once you factor in everything. 0 -

You'll have to have them mounted and balanced if you aren't buying a package from TireRack.
On that note, I suggest DiscountTire because they have a store local to me, free shipping and they'll do the work while I'm there.0 -
I buy local. (Danny's Tire.) Always a good price, solid service after the fact. I support my local businesses, otherwise they would not be there.

I have bought off tire rack , but then it still cost me to have them monuted balanced which normally build into the cost local so its almost a wash on most tires
I just bought 4 trailer tires ( car trailer ) from m Walmart web site 51.00 each free ship to the local store and I think it was about 18.00 for them to replace the ones I took in .
my son still buys his tires from tire rack for his civic si some special tire honda put on the car for handling that last about 6 months maybe a year ( normal for the tires some soft compound ) cheaper for him
I have 90% of time go to a local tire place (s) at least see what they do for me same with gun shops close I will deal too far apart I order on line0 -
The risks you run buying discount tires online is that they could have old date codes or be discounted for defects. You don't know these things before they arrive. buying local may not be the cheapest, but much better to resolve issues if one arises. Sams Club is an excellent source for tires. 0 -
I bought my first new set of tires of this century last fall. Bought from an on-line source and mounted/balanced locally. Saved almost $100 on the deal. I've found that "tire warranties" are a farce. There isn't any such thing, it's just whether the dealer wants more of your business or not. 0 -

I believe the question was "where do you buy" your on line tires.
Not "how does on line tire buying suck?"
I have purchased tires from Tire Rack, and from Discount Tire. Great deals, and Discount will install them. But also usually if you have a local Discount Tires they will match the price.
From Tire Rack I had them delivered directly to my local Goodyear, who installed them (mounting/balancing/disposal) for a fixed price. They usually have a list of local installers they will ship to in your area.0 -
What does your local Goodyear dealer charge to mount the tires you bought somewhere else? Just don't see the advantage, and I buy a lot on line, especially here on GB. 0 -

After running about 9000 miles during the year, I hit a piece
of angle iron that fell off a truck.
Torn the side off the tire, P265/70/16.
Brought the tire into My local Discount Tire store, ready to pay for a new one.
THe salesman called a service tech in and said Put a new tire on his
rim. balance it, mount it and rotate all the others.
NO Charge!!0 -
