plastic gun stocks as firewood??
Well, we've had threads about cedar, gum and other woods used for fire
wood, so with the constant attacks on the 2nd amendment, I'm asking if rifle stocks made of plastics are good for firewood??
Seems to me, unless this country wakes up, we will be required to
turn in any black rifles. [V]
I'll burn mine before I turn in it.
Will it soot up the flue pipe??
Remember, you don't lose your rights all at once, they are chipped
away slowly, little bits at a time.[:(!]

There is an old saying that when its time to bury your guns its really time to use them. 0 -
I heat my home with wood and enjoy the firewood conversation.
I am burning elm all winter this year. It is kind of a pain because it takes a good hot fire to burn well. I try and mix in a piece of ash every time I load up the stove with elm and then it does good.
I have quite a bit of maple this year also.0 -

"Never destroy your guns. Never surrender your guns. Pass them on to someone who will use them properly when the time comes. Feel free to quote me." Wiley Vaughn 0 -
To answer the original question, only the high end stocks burn well, the cheap stuff just lines your stove with melted burned plastic that will last forever. If it costs less than $200, don't burn it. 0 -
banbum, don't burn them. Stocks won't turn bad if their buried correctly.[;)] 0 -

I agree.
(But) Uhmmn,..................................I might want to make sure I have some fall backs. Only prudent.
Some plan ahead. Others choose not to.

All kidding aside, I have always been quite pleased with any purchase I have ever obtained from Ricci. Why do you think I've purchased so much from him? Trust is a valuable commodity.0 -
If you try to burn plastic rifles stocks, they just melt. When they cool and solidify, you will find they have turned into Glocks.

Which would probably function reliably, every time you pull the trigger.
As opposed to a 1911, where you STILL get a non-functional firearm, without additional "work." [:0][B)][:D][}:)]0 -
