Is there a way for me to downsize pictures off the www so they
fit better here on the forums??
These pics are not in an album, or photo web server.
Just pics out there.
Like if I see a pic that is 1050x900 or so, can I get it to
a more friendly size for the forums like 800x600.
Do I have to go to the trouble of loading it onto some website, then
resize it?

  If it isn't copy-protected, you download to your pooter, then resize it. Then, depending on where you want to post it again, you may have to upload it to a site like imgur.com

  That's what I was afraid of.
  Had loads of troubles with different photo web sites when I sold
  on the internet a few years ago.

  Some sites let you upload directly from your computer. For those, you can resize photos yourself.
  
  Others avoid storing megabazillions of bytes on their own servers by requiring links to photo storage places. For those, you have to resize on the storage site.

  So Imagur knows what to do with a pic that is 2800x1700 vs a pic
  455x345??
  Are the big thumbnails always the same size no matter what the starting size was?
