M 1 Garand "prewar designation"
Could you folks "in the know" define "prewar" for me? I've got a
Garand I got from the DCM back in the early 1980's /The serial number (from Springfield) is 206,586. Which I believe dates to the summer of 1941. Is this considered a prewar receiver?
Yes, it was arsenal rebuilt in 5-66.
Other things being equal, is the receiver worth more than one made later into the war?
Thanks in advance.

December 7, 1941 ring a bell? Day that will live in infamy?
Any rifle made before that date would be considered "pre-war", even though they started without us in 1939. But, a pre-war receiver alone has no greater value unless it has 4 digits or less.
