    Does work [^]You do have a very nice piece. I do believe it is for the most part all original . Albeit a obsolete type firearm . These guns were made for landowners in Europe where Hunting is far different from what we enjoy in the U.S. The wood seems to have been refinished and looks very good But actually takes away from some of the guns value .Collectors like it to look old and match the Patina of the metal parts . This type of barrel to receiver locking system is made for low power cartridges "black powder most likely' . Be careful if you try to shoot .

    Photos are visible now, although the markings and proof marks? aren't legible. ( Need sharp close-up photos of them).

    Given the underlever mechanism and back action locks it would seem to date to 1870's/80's? In light of the very fine engraving visible on the receiver the buttplate looks kind of crude,and may be a replacement? Also staining on the stock just above the buttplate.

    Although better photos of the markings and proof marks? are necessary. Given it's apparent age it might not have any German proof marks. As it was probably made way before 1891 when they were required.

    Do to the quality of the photos and it's apparent age, difficult to tell if it has been refinished? In any case it was very high quality when it was originally manufactured. It would help if you chamber casted both barrels to see what cartridges/shells it was made for.
