Need a Marlin expert
This gun is being sold as ALL ORIGINAL. I have some doubts.

Rifle looks fine to me except for the holes in the receiver; which weren't done by Marlin in 1951 which is what the J prefix serial suggests was the year of manufacture. Therefore is not "all original" but probably would be a good shooter.

Edit: Ok, 1951/1952, either way, Marlin didn't drill the holes. Since you know that, what else is there that doesn't look right? You know it is not "original," so does anything else much matter?0 -
J is a 1952 year of manufacture. They weren't D&T until 1955.
