    Sounds like the sear is worn. See a GOOD gunsmith.

    Sear or hammer worn or not fully engauged due to crud like dried oil.
    part 52 and 80. Pull the assembly and clean. A gunsmith is not a bad idea. Oh and good job checking to make it works correctly.

    Thanks to both of you for the help, i have tried cleaning the sear I will find a gunsmith to repair.

    This 1100, sounds like it could have been bubbafied, somewhere along the way, of it's journey thru life. The best thing to do, is take it to a full service, well qualified gunsmith.
