Remington 1100 Safety issue

I have a 20 guage 1100 that will fire in the safe position, I bought a new safety and spring and installed and it still will fire on safe, you have to pull it real hard but will go off any help is greatly appreciated.

  Sounds like the sear is worn. See a GOOD gunsmith.

  Sear or hammer worn or not fully engauged due to crud like dried oil.
  part 52 and 80. Pull the assembly and clean. A gunsmith is not a bad idea. Oh and good job checking to make it works correctly.

  Thanks to both of you for the help, i have tried cleaning the sear I will find a gunsmith to repair.

  This 1100, sounds like it could have been bubbafied, somewhere along the way, of it's journey thru life. The best thing to do, is take it to a full service, well qualified gunsmith.
