Your No. 4 was built in 1954 at the Pakistan Ordnance Factory in Wah, Pakistan. Pakistan received all of the tooling from one of the wartime British factories and produced about 35,000 No. 4 rifles and No. 9 Mk. I bayonets.

For its part, India still makes British-pattern weapons, including Brens, Inglis-type Hi-Powers, and even Webley revolvers (in .32 caliber, for civilian sales). Google 'Indian Ordnance Factories' for an interesting look.
