anyone know if a cracked ar upper can fixed (aluminum) ??

Well, that depends really on where and how large the crack is, but the possibility exists to tig weld it. The cost effectiveness of such a move would be highly unlikely though. The last time I bothered to price stripped uppers, they were right at a hundred bucks. I will state, however, that this was a couple years ago, before the latest buying panic.

I totally agree with HPD, check the auctions here for a stripped upper, much cheaper then any possible repairs if possible.
BUT, first determine why the upper cracked and if it caused any other problems with the ar and its parts.

How much is your face, sight, hearing and perhaps life worth??? Buy a stripped upper.
