Karl Lippard 1911A2 Upgrade
Has anyone done this upgrade?

Has it helped? Please...not comments on 400 yard shots, etc. Just objective comments on the upgrade.
Thanks!

There have been Pistol-Smiths building modified 1911 type pistols since at least the 1950's Guys like Jimmy Clark Bob Chow and John Giles to name a few. Today the better know makers are ones like LES BAER, WILSON
AND the Springfield Custom shop.I have been shooting Match grade 1911 type pistols since 1964 and building my own in later years. Every one tries to build A BETTER MOUSE TRAP Before you spend the money ask yourself. What will a modified pistol by Karl Lippard do that a standard pistol will not do[?][?][?][?][?][?]For the most part any quality made 1911/1911A1 will shoot better then the Shooter. My main match pistol has had over 350,000 rounds through it very little parts breakage one Ejector one firing pin retainer. it has had total of three barrels fitted in that time only because barrel bottom locking lugs show some wear and ten shot group size at 50 yards opened up over the 2 inch at 50 yard that is needed in Bulls-EYE shooting. Have your current pistol ransom rested and if it will shoot 5 inch groups and with you shooting it your groups are 12 inches spend your money on ammo and practice.0 -
The wide link is nothing new [;)] Pachmayr has been making them for years, $6.99 from Midway [:0] The barrel they show has been around since Wilson first did them [^] 0 -
No, I have not had this done to any of my Wilson's, Para's, or Colt's. However, I would not consider it either. Something about an advertisement with improper grammar, and punctuation, doesn't sit well with me.
While not the best shot in the world, I can easily engage 1 gallon milk jugs at the 200 yard mark, with ANY of the pistols mentioned above. My theory, is if it works...don't fix it. These all work real well, and are exceedingly reliable, and accurate...especially the Wilson's...so they are not going to get fixed.
