Are you using standard velocity ammo? A lot of target guns are set up for a 6 o'clock hold on the black. This brownell's list of HS sights. http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/cid=10562/k=/t=P/avs|Manufacturer_1=HIGH STANDARD/Products/Front-Sights

I have a feeling a "too high" sight may be what is coming for my pistol because an original front sight for it is probably not going to be available. I have a gunsmith friend who is very talented at re-creating obsolete parts. Only thing I will need is a clear photo of the profile of an original sight which I should be able to find on any of the auction sites.
Generally with handguns I use the six o'clock sight picture with the top of the blade even with top of notch.

Gee, I forgot to check Brownells! Thanks for the link. I see the HB model listed.
Iam using standard Remington long rifle in it.

The Front sight is pressed into a woodruff key type slot. These will generally pull out with something like vice grips.

The Sight height should be around .276" top of barrel to top of front sight.

john stimson I thank you very much.
My HB is in really nice condition aside from the PO's sight blunder. It's a fun gun to shoot and I believe it has good accuracy potential. It will be nice to get it back to standard sights.
