Anyone heard of the brand H&B? what can you tell me about them.

Are you sure it isn't HSB? (made by Crescent Firearms and others for Hibbard, Spencer, Bartlett Co.)

Perhaps a misstamp H&R Harrington and Richardson never had a 410 but several 12's a 20 with a second 22 Hornet bbl. Good tough guns for the money. I like the older style lever break but the push button ones are a little easier on the web of your thumb if shooting from the hip.

There was a H&A Hopkins and Allen IIRC.

H S & B Trade Mark would date it no later then the depression years of the early 30's, i.e has to be at least 80 years old. During the depression lot of the old large hardware wholesalers/distributors located in the midwest either went out of business completely, or were taken over by other firms.

"HSB". Hibbard Spencer Bartlett, a large dealer and wholesaler of firearms, ammunition, sporting goods and hardware located in Chicago,IL at the following addresses and dates:
1855 to 1860- operated a Johnson, Spencer & Company, address unknown.
1861 to 1883- 30 Lake Street as Hibbard Spencer Company.
1884 to 1892=22 to 32 Lake Street as Hibbard, Spencer, Bartlett & Company.
1893 to 1964- 18 to 32 Lake Street as Hibbard, Spencer, Bartlett & Company.
And as far as I know, may still be there.
They sold both imported foreign and domestic made shotguns marked with either the makers name or their own "Trade Brand Name"
