super slam or vx-3 ?
i have a highly customized FN Mauser in 35 Whelen i bought for an AK hunt years ago and what to start hunting w it again. it's been wearing a 4x burris fullfield in my safe and i want to replace it with a good low-end variable:
bright and sharp
sturdy to handle recoil
good eye relief (3.5"+)
heavy crosshairs or 4A
large field of view
under $500 street price
considering weaver super slam dangerous game 1-5x24 or leupold vx-3 1.5-5x20
any thoughts on those or others?
thanks in advance!

I had the earlier version of the L 1.5 x 5 and liked it very much ( could see 1/2 of the bbl and the front site in the low end mag). A regular duplex works good for me. 0 -
Personally, I would stick with the Burris FullField line...actually it is the FullField II now. I would go with the 2-7X, as it will give you the lowend magnification you seek, and a bit more on the high end. It should fall about halfway up your $500.00 limit.

I hve two vx3s, 1.5x5s. I use one on my Ruger mannlicher 30-06 and the other on my Tikka .338. these are great scopes and a lifetime warrenty. they stand up to the shock of the 06 and .338 for years. they never fog up, and always hold their zero. what more could you want? 0
