Norinco 45
I picked up a Norinco 45 in the box. How are they? Are they worth the money. I picked it up for 5 C notes. How do they shoot?

Great gun for that money. Don't let the "made in China" fool you on this one. These are sought after by many gunsmiths due to the hard steel used in the gun. I don't know what "better" gun you can get for $500, only soft steel guns in that price range. Most of the young guys have never worked on one, while those in the "know" have them upgraded for target work. 0 -

I've had mine for several years with 0 problems. Shoots really good. I put a Kimber .22 conversion on it about 3 years ago. Works great. Hope you enjoy yours. 0 -

Check out one of the 1911 forums. I believe they have a section just for the Norinco's. 0 -
When they first started importing these, Guns & Ammo Magazine had their resident gunsmiths go over a few with fine tooth comb. They gave it rave reviews in all areas. Previous posts here about metal hardness are absolutely correct. I've long forgotten what the Rockwell gauge read but it exceeded Colt's! All parts supposed to be interchangeable and I've never found differently on the many I've worked with.
Due to the import ban, they've achieved something of a collectors' status in they're own right if unaltered & 95% or better condition.
They do make excellent platform for custom built pistol though. Be prepared to face the wrath of the Range Snobs over that Made in China tattoo regardless of how good it is.
You got a good pistol at a reasonable price. I wish you joy of it.0
