1885 win lower tang

will a 1885 winchester "low wall" lower tang and trigger fit a 1885 winchester "high wall" frame?

  The answer depends on several things;
  
  1. Which variation low-wall are you asking about (there were three distinctly different low-wall frames)?
  
  2. By "fit" do you mean a perfect fit, or just will it slide into place? Any low-wall lower tang can be inserted into a high-wall frame, but the "fit" of the tang to the frame can be very noticably undersized, especially if it is a second variation low-wall tang.

  thank you i don't know what the tang series is that is being offered. the one on my action is broken through the lower stock screw hole. am looking everywhere for a replacement. will have to do more studying on the 1885 to find out what i have. left to me by an old friend. again thanks
