Need quality photos for accurate identification and valuation. See "STICKY", for instructions on posting photos.

The side rail marking, "FAB. NAT. D'ARMES de GUERRE, HERSTAL-BELGIQUE", are found on a number of different Belgian Mausers. These were made before and after the Second World War, both for the Belgian military and foreign military contracts.

It's an 8mm Mauser Mod.24L FN Fabrique National, Herstal-Belgique, it says FAB NAT. D'ARMES de GUERRE with matching #s #6772 bolt action with a steel butt-plate and fires great, it is in very nice condition and I can not for the life of me find anything out about it, or an approx value or anything, any info would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Victor Acosta

I added pictures below, please help, any info is helpful

Stock has been sporterized. Bayonet Lug, Front Band, and cleaning rod are missing. This is bad news as far as collectors value is concerned. Unless you can find a collector who has access to original parts for rebuilding it's going to be tough to sell.

Unfortunately in the condition it's in, I only see it worth in the $150-$250 range as a shooter/deer rifle.

Edit #1, Did some more research on the chamber markings. It was made for pre World War II Lithuania by FN. Due to them being invaded and occupied by the Russians and Germans during the war, not many of the rifles survived. If your rifle hadn't been sportized and parts removed it would be a big buck item to a military Mauser rifle collector.

Agree with Rufe. Collector's value went away when it was sporterized- what is left is minimal value as a shooter.

Yep it's a shooter now, and I'd bet a good one. A non 2 stage trigger would help. If you load for it you can hunt almost anything in North America. I have great results with the Lyman 323470 cast bullet. My 44 BYF is a lot rougher.

Well, not great news about the value because of whats been done to it, but I'm still very happy with its performance, it is very accurate and works and fires great, I do hunt allthough normally with a 30-30 but will give this a shot during deer season. I appreciate the info so far, and would love to hear more about this riffle.

I'd use a name-brand pointed soft point (instead of a war surplus round) and you'll be in the hunt before you know it.

Please, don't put a scope on it. It has fine lines and excellent sights and will keep your freezer full!

Yeah, I'm definatly going to use it as-is for hunting, it's very accurate and to put a scope on it, I would need to change the bolt or get a side mount scope, and I'm not too interested in unneeded mods.
