switch signal 45
Lost my father recently and inherited his service pistol that he carried during wwll. Its a switch and signal #1053373. Its in good shape but I've been searching the facts and this pistol has a p mark on the slide but not on the frame. I've read that the p was added after the serial # on my pistol but this is the pistol he carried and has never had any work done on it. Does this influence the price I can ask to sell the pistol?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Serial Number shows Union Switch & Signal, 1943 production. Need quality photos for accurate identification and valuation.
"Sticky" on first page gives instructions for posting photos.0 -
The "P" was added to US&S guns ABOUT serial number 106000
Yours is not far below that and might go either way.
HOWEVER, if it has a P on the slide, it should have one on the frame. But it would not be after the serial number. Look on the left side just below the magazine catch.0 -
There is not a P anywhere other than the slide. 0
