OK so I bought an AR...
Let me first thank everyone that helped me make my decision to purchase a quality one brand gun with a lifetime warranty. Guess I said something wrong in my other post since it's locked. Soooo, I bought a Rock River Arms flat top with a nice quad rail, nice rubber pistol grip with 3 finger slots, modified trigger guard and a 2 stage trigger for $849. Figured I was already coming out ahead over building one or buying a stripped down M&P for $795. I added a set of Magpul flip up sights, rail covers, Rock River Operator stock, 2 Daniels Defense 2 point strap mounts, a Magpul 2 point strap, 5 Magpul 30 round Pmags, an Explore Optics 1.5-6.5x32 scope with illuminated 1/4" click R6 Mil-Dot Reticle, and an Explore Optics GH-C8-240 Lumen 3W Green Led Kit with battery, battery charger and pressure switch with an optional white LED with bright dim and strobe setting. In addition I purchase an "Atchison" 22LR conversion kit with a 25 round clip. So now I'm not sure how I like the 2 point mount as I bought it on advice from someone at the Gun show. He said not to try to lighten the gun or my wife and daughter would feel more recoil but to use a two point strap over our left shoulder and under our right shoulder to help support the weight of the front of the gun. My wife refuses to wrap the strap around the back of her neck and I must say it's not to cumfortable on the armpit either. Next I am extremely disapponted in the pressure switch for the tac light. The light works great but I drove all the way back to the gun show to get a nonfunctional pressure switch replaced that now after testing the new one I'm finding it only works about half the time. I was a little concerned when purchasing it that the swich was somewhat bulky and covered with very loose heat shrink but liked the light enough to take a chance. WHOOPS!!! Overall I love the new gun and most of the add-ons but would certainly appreciate any feedback on my concerns. I'm sure I'll have more coments after I actually get to take it out and use it but for now I look forward to hearing your input.

First the Explore optics are made by a company local to Dallas, Fort Worth in Coppell, Tx. I really do like the scope but I am a little iffy about the pressure switch he puts on his "Nature Smart" lights. Good news is I talked to him this morning and he is going to torcher test a switch to make sure it's good and send it to me at no charge. We'll see how it works out. I couldn't ask for a better light, I may end up having to retrofit another pressure switch to it though. His quick release mounts for both are really nice and I haven't seen any I've liked better.
Second I was wanting a single point strap but the purpose of the 2 point was to help take some weight off of the front of the gun for my wife and daughter but the strap is to awkward for them. I guess we'll see after we start shooting. I may still go with a single point.

As Nononsense pointed out, the thread that explains picture posting, is included in the informational threads. You need to use a photo hosting website to copy and paste pictures from.
Threads in the Expert's forum, get locked out at 10 posts, or someplace close, but after 10 posts. If you have additional information to add, it pays dividends, to EDIT your post, instead of creating a new one under the same thread. To use edit, simply click on the symbol of the pencil, and it will open up that post for you to edit. This practice leaves space for postings from more member's.
You made a fine choice, and got yourself a fine deal. I am not sure if I would have went with the Explore Optics hardware though. I have never seen them, nor heard of them, which would be of concern to me. As for recoil for your wife or daughter, there is no need for a sling wrap, as there is very little recoil to start with these rifles. Yes, there is a little blast, and bark, but the recoil is minimal. That is not to say that a sling does not come in handy for enhancing stability for off hand distance or precision shooting.
Over all, it sounds like you have yourself a very nice rifle there, and it should serve you well. What twist rate is the barrel? That has an important part of what ammunition it will really like.

You should look at the Burris PEPPR mount, or the stuff from LaRue Tactical. They are a little spendy, but worth EVERY red penny of it.

Nice buy on the rifle! Be sure when you mount your Magpul back up sights that you don't mount the front sight on the gas block. Mount it on the forearm rail. These sights will melt under the high heat which can be present at the gas block.
I agree with tsr1965 that you might want to look into a different scope. I did a quick Google search on the one that you bought and the only hit I got on it was this thread! A firearm is only as good as the sights you put on it.0 -

Sounds like a great deal on the rifle! Before you know it, you'll have three! I'm sure your daughter will want her own. I like the pics. Also, slings especially are a personal choice. And often,you'll find you don't like something someone else thinks is the cat's meow. Optics can be that way, I think you choose right on your scope magnification, on brand, can't say. But if you like it, then you did good. I'll be looking for your call sign on the reloading forum after a few months, you know after you have 2k of empty brass! 0
