XDS
Has anyone seen an XDS that has blown up while shooting?
Mine did after around 30-50 rounds the side of the barrel blew out, hit the side wall and ended up at my feet. I also found the casing of the Federal round. The range officer guessed that the previous round fractured the barrel and the following round blew it apart.

I've never even heard of an internet rumor about anything like that with an Xd, everything I've ever seen (and personally experienced with Xd's) has been positive. 0 -
Document the failure through photos and RO's written statement, if he's willing to provide one.
Contact SA and inform them of the failure. Wait for their response. Since the 9mm XDS is very new to the marketplace, I'm sure they would want to resolve this quickly.0 -
Sounds more like you may have had a case of ammo detonation. A lower than normal powder amount that falls below the primer can result in a spike in pressure. NORMALLY a gun will not blow out like that with a problem in the gun. It takes a REALLY high overcharge to get that kind of pressure level, and you would know that from other rounds going off first. There have been other postings of other guns doing the same thing with all the ammo producers putting out ammo as fast as they can. 0
