walther rifle
My father recently showed me a German rifle that he got from his father. It is an old Walther 22 bolt action rifle that he believes was brought back from the war. It is a single shot or semi-auto. I am trying to help him get as much info on it as we can. Does anyone know about these rifles?
I am also trying to find the four or five round magazine that goes to it since that is the only thing that is missing. Was wondering if anyone knows where to even start to try to find one, cause we are having no luck at all.
On the left side of the barrel between the bolt action and the rear adjustable sight there is a bird or an eagle with wings open, "N" with crown figure above it and "NITRO".
On the opposite side of the barrel there is a crown symbol, "B", another crown symbol then "U", next to that a crown symbol and under that a "G", also in that area are "5,7 7m".
Top of the bolt action there is a crown and "N", then next to that a crown, "B", crown and "U".
Top of the bolt action assy. there is Waffenfabrik Walther Zella-Mehlis (thur.)
I am assuming that the serial number is on the left side of the trigger guard and it is 30459.
It is an amazing gun that my father says shoots very acurate single shot with it's adjustable rear sight from 30-200.
Please help with anything that you can.

Most likely it is a Model 1 or Model 2. These are high quality rifles which can sell for several hundred $$$ in excellent condition:

So that means that there could be hope of finding one? Kinda figured they be expensive but it would be worth the purchase I think. When you say expensive, what is your meaning of expensive?0 -

Nice rifle and video. The link shows magazines are listed for model 1 or 2 @ $125 each. I guess I be using the single shot feature. However I did gladly pay $50 for a new in the wrapper 10 round HD Military magazine from the 50's. 0
