sales from non FFL holder
I have been wanting to sell some rifles on GB I pick up at an estate sale, there basically barreled actions with parts. Do I have to ship them from an FFL to an FFL or is it legal to ship directly to an FFL providing a copy of my ID? I live in Alabama.

Legally, you can ship them directly to an FFL dealer with a copy of your ID. However, some FFL's will not accept firearms or receivers from non-licensees at their discretion so be sure to state in your auction that the buyer needs to confirm that their receiving FFL will accept your item(s). 0 -

My understanding is that buying firearms, which would include barreled actions, with the intent to resell is frowned upon by the BATF. An occassional sale or selling a collection is theoreticlly OK but a steady stream of buying/selling without a FFL could result in serious problems. 0 -
I only plan on selling a couple, but from my understanding they must provide me a copy of there FFL and ship to the address on said copy of FFL. I believe there is a way to ck to make sure it is current? Ive had these for several years by the way and don't intend on selling often. Let me know if there is anything I'm not doing correctly, not looking to do anything illegal. Thanks. 0 -
they do not have to provide a copy of the FFL. You need to use EZ check the dealer will give you the first & last few digits for you to verify 0 -
As golfer said- if you are not a FFL, you do not need a copy of the license of the FFL you ship TO. You do need his license number, which you can verify thru the ATF EZ Check system- and ship to the address shown there. And please be a good guy, send the FFL a copy of your driver's license, so that he can log the guns into HIS record book. 0
