Value of totally refinished 101
I had a Winchester model 101 refinished by a professional gunsmith. All the original steel was restored and blued and all the original wood was restored and satin finished. It also went through a mechanical functioning test. It's a Winchester model 101, 12ga., 2-3/4", 28" field, which was made in mid 1963. What is the proper way to describe this shotgun for sale on GunBroker.

I would post it as a professionally refinished Winchester 101. Start the auction at $500.00, with no reserve, and post a lot of close up pictures. Make it a 7 or 10 day auction, and at the end of the 7 or 10 days, you will know what the market will bear exactly to the penny. I would suspect that it will be somewhere south of $1000.00, but it could go for more.

Describe it just like you did here but maybe mention the person/s who did the work. 101's are a tough sell even thought they are great guns. They seem to be alot more popular on the East Coast than anywhere else. You didn't mention the choking so I'm going to guess F/M or F/IM. If I had to say I'd guess you'd be lucky to get $750 out of it. Might be better off to keep it. 0 -
