ruger 44 mag stock
How does one tell the difference between a Ruger 44 Mag and a 10-22 stock. Are they interchangeable? Could someone provide the inside with of the action cutout area

They do look a lot alike but I think the 44 is wider/thicker. Shipping weight is almost twice as heavy.

The 44mag stock will have a big cut out in the barrel channel for the gas system to run back and forth in, the 10/22 will be solid down to the V-block/take down screw...
Note that some aftermarket stocks used for building a worlsclasse 10/22 may be cut out for part or all of the barrel channel, but this does not mean they are suitable for the 44 carbine.
I'd go open my safe and give you nice pics of both, but She Who Must Be Obeyed is asleep, and I'd like to wake up in the morning.0 -
Note that the stock posted above is for the 96/44 which is a lever action. 0
