No Orange Tip
I have some older toy guns that were manufactured before the orange tip law.
Are these legal to resell and ship?
What I have been able to find is "NO" they can not be resold or shipped.
What do the experts say.

I have sold and shipped dozens of toy old guns on that most anti-gun ebbby site.
You put the orange caps on them. Does not have to be neat or good looking, the collector is going to remove them as soon as he gets it.[:D]
These come in many sizes, or use your imagination.

I have some older Red Riders New in the Box. I have found a couple nice
Mattel Fanner 50's the older ones from the 50's. Some Older Crossman Rifles still in the box.
These go way back before the law.
May have to get some of the orange plugs babun was talking about.0 -

First this does refer to guns that fire metal projectiles (BB guns, air rifles, etc)
Second- does NOT apply to toys that were sold prior to 5 Nov 1988. Guns like the Mattel Fanner 50 were made from the late 50s to late 60s, and are not covered.
Last- read the law. It preempts state and local laws on this. It's 15 U.S. Code ? 50010 -
Forgot to tell you....size those plugs to fit OVER the barrel. A few drops of water soluble glue [elmers white] will help hold them on if you have to slit the plug to fit around front sites.
If your guns are collectable; painting the muzzles will scare away collectors. [V]

Old toy guns sold at gun shows lack the tips. 0 -
The classic ones are on the auction site w/o orange tips

My brother sister and I must have spent 1000's of hours playing with these.
We all still have 2 eyes. [:)]0 -
I would pick your glue very carefully. I think a plastic cap would be better than paint or nail polish.
I find it sad that we have sunk this low from the 2nd Amendment. I wonder if that kid that got expelled from skrool for biting his pop tart into the shape of pistol would have got a pass if it had orange filling leaking out the front.0 -
I will bet the kids that have been killed for thinking they were playing guns with cops find it sad too. I once posted a photo is some of my revolvers including my toy Norton .45 and not one comment mentioned that one of them was a toy.
I wish I knew the answer, maybe making toy guns red would do it.0
