Hard to say exactly. Cowboy companion for scatter gun to pistol/carbine round. Un rifled good for making noise, short range with bullets at best - might be for 44 shot rounds as reduced loads around the barn.
The 410 might be along the lines of an Everlasting case or training blank/dummy launcher for dog training.
If steel could date back a long ways, Aluminium more recent I would guess.0 -
For studio prop department use - with blanks most likely
That way the gun goes bang on film and you don't need a whole bunch of different ammo to keep track of or be safe with...
Either for film or a traveling show group or circus type act or wild west show.

Probably intended for those 5 in 1 blanks I'd guess 0 -
Yes 5n1 blanks would be by best guess - I have a few boxes set aside somewhere in the hoard pile...

Mike W. The 410 is used inside the others in your set to test firing pins hammer spring strength etc for all the gauges. Does the 410 have the punch inside it to knock the spent primer out? 0 -
"Does the 410 have the punch inside it to knock the spent primer out?" .........yes it does, but the 'o' ring makes it a very tight fit in the others 0 -

I used one of these for years with the O ring missing. My guess is the O ring has been replaced with the wrong size. This is kit is a handy tool.0 -
