M-1892 production year - Burt

Hi Burt, I have an 1892 whinchester 44-40. My father gave it to me 35 years ago and he had it for the previous 21 years. He said it was from 1899, I have seen it listed as 1895 and I read a post here where you gave some one a year of 1894 for a # over 8k newer then mine so I thought I would put the questing to you. #L40223.   Model 1892 serial number 140223 (the "L" is actually a "1") was manufactured in April of the year 1900. You did not read a post from me that states that a 6-digit Model 1892 serial number was manufactured in the year 1894.
