I suspect any good solvent will cut just fine. Take it apart, wipe with dampen cloth, or scrub with a wet brush. I like Shooter's Choice. All my stainless stuff gets lubed with Rig Stainless + grease to help prevent galling. I would also suggest while its apart to LIGHTLY stone the working surfaces to remove the burrs.

Check the inside of the magazines and do the follower edges too.

Gibbs. Cleans, lubricates, protects, and removes nasty gunk.

I have found that brake cleaner works well, you just have to be sure to apply a fresh coat of lube as it leaves the metal dry.

Use something mild like WD40 to wipe it down first and see if that works.

Bore Tech Eliminator is my go to. Then CLP for lube.

I use a good solvent, or brake cleaner, then head straight for the G-96
