Re-Anodizing Aluminum Parts
Anyone know of a place to send aluminum firearm parts to have re-anodized to factory or better quality? Namely a trigger guard/magazine floor plate assembly at this time.
TIA for any input

It could be an advanced DIY project. Make sure that whatever place you send them off to is ok with gun parts. Lots of places will have nothing to do with them, even non registered parts.
You might consider a bake/spray on finish.0 -
There are anodizing facilities all over the US. Not sure about Botswana, though.
I would call and talk with a local anodizing outfit before doing anything.
Removing the anodized surface is by definition removing a portion of the original substrate, and will most likely leave the piece with a matte finish that will have to be fully polished before a new coating can be applied.0 -
HPD, if you're wanting something local, check with motorcycle shops, or shops that deal in custom wheels for cars. 0 -
You might try a more durable finish like the baked on ceramic paints - I've tried them and they're very resistant to wear/scratches. 0 -
If you are comfortable working with battery acid, you could try a DIY approach-

When you say factory or better quality, are you referring to matching finish and color with the other non re finished parts next to it, or just durability? If color match isn't a real big deal, look into having someone cerakote it..
