1. What was the standard drop in the stock of the 97?
2. Was the standard drop ever changed during the production run?
3. Were there any variations in the drop between the various models of the 97, ie trap, standard, brush ect.?

  1. It depends on when exactly it was manufactured and the specific variation.
  2. Yes, a few times.
  3. Yes.
  
  One really needs to study each one of the many & various catalogs that Winchester published during the production run to determine what the standard stock dimensions were during any given time period.
