any good or bad info on Akkar pumps......
been looking for a cheap shotgun for the grandson in 28ga, this fits the spot at a little over $250 new. any one seen one or held or shot one, reviews are few and far between on the pumps, my little bit of research leads me to believe they are the same as the charles daily, as the charles daily line was dropped then this brand was brought out. anyone??
I know what you mean rufe, I have heard lots of bad thing about the turkish semi's, but not anything about the pumps, a couple articles said they could pass for 870, per looks and location safety ect. I was looking at the brownings as I wanted a 28ga, but I can get this in a youth model, for less than half of the full size browning, another article stated they may now be made by baikal,?? At that price I am going to give it a try, should be able to get my money back on the used side If I don't like it, as 28 are hard to come by.

hillbillie,
You are correct about the brand names:

AKKARr had been searching for a US marketing partner , since K.B.I., Inc., dba Charles Dalyr ceased operations in January, 2010. AKKARr will continue to offer Over & Under, Semi-Auto and Pump shotguns in the same popular configurations as formerly offered under the CHARLES DALYr brand name.
AKKARr may be a new name in the USA, however AKKARr manufactured over & under, semi-auto and pump shotguns are well known having been sold in the USA, under the CHARLES DALYr brand name, for over ten years. With high-tech design, development and production facilities, AKKARr is capable of designing and manufacturing all components and parts in-house.
While there are many firearms assembly operations in Turkey, only a few are true manufacturers like AKKARr. The AKKARr factory, located in Istanbul, Turkey, has been accredited for compliance with American, European and Turkish ISO-9001 and Q9001:2000 quality standards.

Your best bet would be to go on GOOGLE and research "K.B.I. shotguns". Not likely they ever used the name Akkar, when they imported and sold them.
K.B.I.had been in business for years, before they folded. Most of the stuff they handled was inexpensive imports.
I would only buy one of these Turk shotguns unless you got it from a reputable business, that gave a money back warranty.0 -
