Question about Shaw Barrels
What do people generally think of Shaw barrels? Good? Bad? Ok? I'm looking to get a 6.5/06 barrel and have it installed on a Husqvarna(Mauser) receiver. I've looked at three barrel makers' sites and for the complete job, including re-blue of the barreled action, Shaw seems to be quite reasonable compared to the other two.
TIA for any input.
FYI, the others are Douglas, and Lilja.

In my experience, the Shaw barrels are not machined as nice as the other two. They are good barrels otherwise. I am fortunate as I have a lathe and other machine tools so I finished the barrel myself. 0 -
My favorite now long past local gunsmith installed a lot of the Shaw barrels. As I recall they all shot good for hunting rifles considering the price.
Still waiting for dad's 256 Newton to return to the area, so I can take it out for a session.0 -
Some years ago, one the board member here put a Shaw barrel on an H&R 300 ultra for me. Puts the pill where I want it to go. 0 -
ok barrels, not one I'd pick for a 'bench' rifle but still a good value for the $$ 0 -

Had a stainless bull barrel put on an AR 25+ years ago, shot many groups under 1/2" at 100 with my handloads ... Other shooters still looked down their nose at it. 0
