Mid 50?s S&W Chiefs Special Airweight revisited
Ok, last topic locked. Question was asked where hammer broke on it. It is just the end of the spur. So not a major deal as far as firing. My other issue is that the ?hammer nose? from the exploded diagram I looked at, is very loose. Is this more of an issue?

It should move. 0 -
The hammer nose "firing pin" on Smiths have quite a bid of wiggle built into them. The later frame mounted pins don't. 0 -
Supposed to wiggle. FP has to move in one plane as hammer swings in another plane. 0 -
Of course, a new hammer will require you to install the firing pin & firing pin spring, install the rivet, & stake the rivet. You can find a video on You Tube, or leave the job to your 'smith.

buddy just said he is not that connected to it so he wants it gone. Will be listing it on here in the next few days once I get a feel for starting price. Thanks all who helped. 0 -

Properly photographed and ending on a Sunday, I wouldn't be afraid to start a smith at a penny. Here's one ending soon you can watch:
