Bushnell
I have this old Bushnell Sharp shooter 3-9x40 on a 788 222 it shoots well now when it warm out but was wondering about this winter when it get cold out, if it will fog up. If so I was going to change it out for a Burris FullField E1 4.5-14x42. The gun is in very good condition

There are 2 generations of Bushnell scopes. First is the early ones made in Japan. IMHO, were very good quality.
Recent ones, are mediocre quality sold under the Bushnell name. But made in China. I woodn't even think twice. If yours fall, in the latter category. Sell it on the auction, and get the Burris.
Don't get me wrong. Lot of the Burris stuff. Originates in China. But it's better quality to start with. And they stand behind it. With their

Thanks for the info, its looks old because it got steel for tube not like these newer ones. I was concern about it fogging up in the winter. 0 -
If you want to test the scope, take it off the rifle and put it in the freezer overnight. Next morning take it outside and let it warm up gradually. If that doesn't "fog it", your seals are intact. 0 -
never had any issues with my older bushnells yet but I had a newer one that was junk, didn't fog just didn't stay adjusted internals bad. 0 -
I live in Rochester NY home of baush and lomb, anything 40 or more years old is top shelf.
After that the one world twits mucked it up.
Same thing applies to Crossman arms air guns.0
