    Just a guess late 30's that serial number range topped out in the 450000's before they went with the prefix letters

    well according to the link above # 355299 was made in 1906 I also have #244308 made in 1902 so a little arithmatic yields 22198 rifles per year ergo #449257 was made about 1910.

    Hit the wrong number should have been in the 10'S I believe it was 1916 when they went to letter prefix until 1921
