Foredom makes a quarter horse flex shaft rotary tool that runs about $112, but is worls class. Check amazon.

First one I owned, lasted 20+ years, before giving up the ghost. Recent ones, don't seem as durable. Probably made in China, like everything else. With planned obsolescence, factored in.

The only thing I have noticed though. Is that the collets are now made of aluminum. Makes getting the tools out harder. Than with the old steel collets.

Dremel tools have been going down in quality for a while.
Buy a no name die grinder with a few extra collets.

Dremels are not made to bear down hard on. Easy does it with a light touch. Hammer drills they are not. A lathe will chatter if you take too big of a bite. Dremels will just burn up their brushes.

Use the same amount of force you use with single cut off wheels. They are delicate and will break easy if they bind.
