Why stencil "Bag Empty Cartridges"? For reloading behind the lines? Or keeping count?
"It's 14" long and opens up to a rectangle shape 4x6.
The 1st one looks like WW 1 era, 2nd one seems to be WW 2 era"
Kinda small to be a machine gun empty collector (the machine guns I'm thinking of). Maybe for a BAR or a Tommygun?0 -
possible brass catcher???? just guessing 0 -
I'm guessing (being a former machinegunner and having done so) that it would be easier to empty the bag than pick up all of the expended casings at the range. 0 -
Usually for use inside an armored vehicle (especially inside a tank with a ball mounted weapon).
It is not a good idea to have excess cartridge casings moving around inside a tank, when you are using it. They might get stuck in places you don't want them to get stuck in.0 -
No clue even google has nothing. The snap looks like the one on my WWII issue 1911 holster and mag pouches. Something for scale would be nice. 0 -
